LOUNGEWEAR

The times we are living in are incredibly uncertain and dystopian. In light of these recent events, once again I would like to give my thanks and admiration for the NHS for their positivity and unbelievable hard-work, as well as the bravery of all Key-Workers. Whilst we are all in lockdown loungewear is a MUST! In an attempt to reduce stress on delivery drivers and fashion companies all of these looks are pieces I already own.

Who doesn’t love loungewear? Victoria’s Secret and Ralph Lauren are my favourites when sourcing relaxers. I admit that I am totally and utterly addicted to purchasing loungewear; I am easily swayed by a comfy looking sweat. Ralph Lauren is the priciest, however the RL pieces that I have acquired are high quality and long lasting – timeless and classic. I adore navy, grey and pale pink colour ways – too cute, while khaki and camel are staple colours for lounging around. With a range of sweatshirts, sweat-shorts, joggers, oversized T’s and fluffy sliders/socks you have free range mix & match.

I purchased this Ralph Lauren sweatshirt in off-white, red and navy in an outlet store. The aesthetically pleasing design tastefully printed with the polo logo and pony player emblem is completely Maddison style; preppy American. The lining is super soft, while the side slits and elongated back panel create a cool style. Despite the substantial £80 price tag – even at the reduced price – this purchase is a loungewear staple and will last season after season. I paired the sweatshirt with Victoria’s Secret grey sweat-shorts. The shorts are super comfortable with a tie-waist. I love the copper logo accents. Grey fluffy sliders finish the look.

In 2019 I worked as Buying Assistant at Ralph Lauren for a month-long internship. I very luckily was invited to help at the sample-sale; this entire outfit is sourced from the sample-sale. The navy-fleece sweatshirt is a Ralph Lauren staple; if you’re going to splash-out on loungewear I highly recommend a basic RL sweatshirt; they’re super casual and long-lasting. I adore a navy, white and red combination. These joggers are preppy and loud. The navy and red stripes are stylish and slick, while the Polo logo and American flag designs intertwine seamlessly. I’ll let you in on a secret…this whole outfit is menswear! Menswear always fits oversized, so steal your brother’s/dad’s/boyfriend’s clothes for ultimate cosiness. Queen of chilly feet; the navy socks with red pony player crest are also Ralph staples and finish the look perfectly and provide warmth.

Military influenced designs are so chic, I’ve always been a fan. This khaki sweatshirt combines perfectly with the white shorts. The US flag & U.S Airforce badges, alongside the back print combine to generate a striking design. I bought this Topshop sweatshirt about 5 years ago and I still wear it to this day. I bought the shorts in a Victoria’s Secret sale also 5 years ago. The VS sale is not one to be missed, I have bought some incredibly beautiful pieces for a fraction of the original price. The white shorts are a comfortable, cheeky fit with a silver sparkly angel wing emblem. The best feature – pockets.

New York was the best city break of my life! During the entire trip I was searching for the perfect souvenir to remember my first visit. The tourist shops were incredibly overpriced and so tasteless. I was gutted that I was leaving without a memento until I got to JFK airport. They had a mini Victoria’s Secret store with a sale section; in which I spied the attractive baby pink sweatshirt with a glittery NEW YORK printed across the middle. BINGO! I looked at the label in anticipation, ready for potential disappointment as VS sweatshirts can be up to $60…there was no price. Taking the sweatshirt to the till I asked the price and stood there dumbfounded as the assistant informed me that the price was just $10! It is one of my favourite purchases ever. The sweat is an impeccable duo to the VS sleep-shorts that I bought in the sale. The grey ribbed design with matching baby pink frills makes a super cute short, SO COMFY too! Long grey socks finalise the cheeky look. Oh – and a fluffy grey bunny eye mask is ESSENTIAL for day-naps!

I love green. Having bright green eyes, green clothing items make my eyes pop! This playful ‘Victoria’s Secret Pink’ green velour co-ord set is sassy and cosy. The matching set consisting of shorts and a cropped hoodie is a go-to when relaxing. Pink clothing is always high quality visually and by-feel. Definitely worth the price.

You cannot go wrong with a one-piece wonder. What is more comfortable than a GIANT T. This unisex, humongous, oversized Levi’s T-shirt is my favourite throw-on item. I bought it at a discount Levi’s store, I loved the over-sized style and Levi’s is always a classic. The quality is exceptional as always; the cotton is super thick. Any Levi’s is quality and eternal. I finished the look with F&F pink fluffy socks.

Joggers are a must-have item. A casual staple! These Zara camel joggers are a comfy fit and super stylish. The cuffed ankle and lightweight camel material are perfect for Spring. I paired the joggers with a matching camel H&M hoodie. I very often style hoodies and sweatshirts tucked-up. Finishing the look with pink fluffy sliders I am ready to relax.
