SUMMER PINK FLORAL

Have you ever seen pink POP so much?! This playful pink floral co-ord sourced from ASOS is an EYE-CATCHER to say the least. My style is largely dressy and this co-ord is definitely within this category. This skirt and top combo is spectacular as it can be dressed up or dressed down to suit any occasion; here I styled the look down with my off-white Converse chunky GORTEX boots. The frilled skirt and top hem emphasises the feminine vibe. Simply accessorised with my Kate Spade gold cuff the look is complete. This co-ord requires little extras due to the intense, beautiful print.

FLORALS

Florals are hot this summer. This ASOS playsuit is not playing it safe. The bright green colouring contrasts greatly against the soft floral pattern, which I love! The fit of the playsuit is perfect; the wide leg, V neckline and balloon sleeve style combine for a unique fit. I paired the playsuit with Gucci-style ASOS gem sandals. These sandals are a MUST this summer, the gem embellishment is so stylish.

The second floral item is this ASOS floral maxi dress. The pink florals on the green satin dress scream summer. I’ve always adored a green/pink combo. The maxi length, modest neckline and seam décor create the perfect tea dress style. I paired the dress with off-white Primark sandals for a dressy style.

NEWMARKET JULY FESTIVAL LADIES DAY 2020 – I MADE THE TOP 10 BEST DRESSED!

This 2020 the Newmarket July Festival Ladies Day Style-Awards was held virtually via Instagram. Seeing the Style Awards advertised via the Velvet Mag website I knew I would definitely be entering. What a great way to encourage people to get dress-up and stay-in in the current climate! I absolutely adore styling for the races as it’s a prestigious event, which requires a sophisticated arrangement.

This year I selected an attractive white and blush pink colour scheme. Never Fully Dressed is one of my favourite go-to websites for a show-stopping number. I selected their White Leo Textured Dress. The fluted sleeves panelled modest length and high neck combine for a flawless style. The embroidered texture adds flair to the graceful piece. I’m incredibly lucky to have a talented creative Mumma who kindly crafted the hat from scratch! The blush pink hat matches identically to the blush pink satin ASOS heel with ankle strap. ONCE AGAIN, my Mumma’s incredible vintage accessories have been inherited by me; this time in the form of a sage satin, embroidered bag. The pastel bag with grab handle is a darling, quaint addition to the modern outfit.

Entering my look to the Style Awards via my House Of Maddison Instagram for a bit of fun, I was delighted to be placed in the top 10 Best Dressed. I was delighted to have been posted on both the Velvet Mag Instagram and Website. Next year I cannot wait to attend Ladies Day in person. I’ve started planning my outfit already!

TO THE BEACH…

Once again (FINALLY), the dreary British skies are on vacation! But, who knows how long it will last… With a golden forecast ahead for my 21st birthday week and living in Norfolk, the beaches are calling. A beach trip calls for comfortable, cool clothing and this is my favourite Summer piece right now! The white ASOS shirred bralet is the cutest and sassiest summer staple in my wardrobe for 2020. The top matches incredibly with denim, but also paired with white it would look dreamy. Denim and white is a summer classic, an absolute all-time favourite of mine, the outcome is always so classy – matchless! The simplicity of this outfit is spiced up by the bow style front and bow-tie straps. The denim short/white bralet combo requires a brown leather slider. The Stradivarius padded brown sliders are a key 2020 item, so stylish and simple. Throwing on a statement pair of crystal and gold earrings, my Kate Spade cuff and the leather bracelet I bought from Florence last year are the sweetest details, finishing the look.

MISS METALLIC

This look is quite far from my generic style, but I LOVE IT! The fresh zing of metallic combined with the off-white creates an unflawed cool vibe. The H&M off-white turn-up culottes are a traditional foundation for a typical ‘Maddison’ outfit, however this time I played it out of the box… Throwing on a H&M extreme-crop metallic silver shirt, silver Stradivarius brogues and my Mumma’s vintage silver Guess chain belt, the look transformed from a generic elegant outfit, to a showstopper! Changing up my usual curls I threw my hair back in a relaxed ponytail. I’ve rocked metallic trouser or shoe many-a-time, but the metallic shirt was a new one! The metallic shirt is PERFECT for a festival or summer party (safely of-course). In short, I’ve fallen in love with silver!

NEUTRALS TWO-WAYS

Who doesn’t love a neutral? Mixing white with camel/sandy tones is a favourite colour combo of mine for the Summer months. As you all know I am a detail addict, whether it be voluminous sleeves or creative collar. This camel H&M midi shirt dress is a fantastic piece from Spring to Autumn. The midi length and shirt collar combined with the oversized nature of the dress screams for a statement belt to clinch in the waist. Here I added the Zara jute, knot belt in-keeping with the neutral vibe. This look would work with stylish, white chunky sneakers, but here I styled the look with Primark off-white ankle-tie sandals adding sophistication. I would wear this for an afternoon tea or glam brunch with my girls.

The second outfit: Zara cream shorts with turn-ups, a sandy H&M puff-sleeve blouse, the Zara jute knot belt and Primark tie-ankle sandals. The short + shirt combo, accessorised with the belt has an elegant, yet playful style. I finished both looks with my Mango gold chain, camel bag and Kate Spade bangle. You will never go wrong with a neutral style!

MADDISON’S JUNE

This June has been an unbelievably stressful and rewarding month of my life. Finishing my dissertation required a large amount of resilience and determination. My hard work and dedication enabled me to finish a piece of work that I am immensely proud of. Since, I have taken some time to fully relax which I have never had the opportunity to do before. My fitness levels have increased and as restrictions of lockdown have reduced I’ve taken the time to spend some quality time with close friends and family. With my 21st birthday approaching in July I am taking this unprecedented time to reflect on what I have achieved and plan what I want my future to look like. I hope you’re all happy and doing well!

GRADUATING UNIVERSITY!

After 3 rewarding years reading BA Hons Fashion Marketing & Management at University of Southampton, Winchester School of Art I handed in my Final Major Project/Dissertation titled Gucci Travel Club in June. Throughout my time at university not only have I been enthralled by a subject that I absolutely adore, but I also learnt the most valuable life lessons and formed friendships that will last a lifetime. My Mumma has always said that university is not only about learning your craft it’s mainly incredibly grounding for a person, I couldn’t agree more. I lived in university halls for the first year, then private halls for the second and third years which I nicknamed my ‘New York Apartment’. I feel incredibly overwhelmed that my university experience was cut short due to Coronavirus however, it gave me the opportunity to work undistracted on my final project.

I was incredibly fortunate to go on 3 trips of a lifetime while at university. In first year, I visited Berlin, second year I travelled to Florence and in third year I visited my bucket list destination; New York. Each trip I learnt numerous clandestine facts about the fashion industry. When visiting Florence, the group visited a perfumery named Sileno Cheloni where the informed experts offer a personalised scent experience made from all-natural ingredients. Sileno Cheloni creates the signature scent that Gucci uses within their stores; I find sensory marketing exceptionally fascinating.

Now that I have finished university and I have a small break before finding my dream fashion job I will take the time to post about my university projects on this blog. I may even make a few YouTube videos explaining the innovations. Expect a lot of posting coming your way!

THE MAN WHO DIDN’T CALL – BY ROSIE WALSH

BLURB

Imagine you meet a man, spend seven glorious days together, and fall in love. And it’s mutual: you’ve never been so certain of anything.

So when he leaves for a long-booked holiday and promises to call from the airport, you have no cause to doubt him.

But he doesn’t call.

Your friends tell you to forget him, but you know they’re wrong: something must have happened; there must be a reason for his silence.

What do you do when you finally discover you’re right? That there is a reason – and that reason is the one thing you didn’t share with each other?

The truth.

GREEN RUFFLE DRESS

This Zara green poplin dress is a dream. The extravagant ruffle neckline and loose fit combine to make an elegant and timeless piece. The exaggerated design is incredible; an impeccable style for when you want to impress and demand attention. The popping green is a distinct shade; daring and bold. The short length, puff sleeve and loose fit contrast against the amplified ruffle detail. The stylish look screams for an understated hairstyle; I chose a tight poker bun. I added statement diamante branch earrings and off-white Primark sandals to finish the look. Zara is the greatest.

THE MAXI-DRESS EDIT

Relaxed, pretty maxi dresses are a summer staple. Whether you’re going for a brunch date or you’re holidaying abroad a casual maxi dress is a must. These two styles are sourced from ASOS. The first style is a sage green maxi length dress with a deep neckline, double drawstring front and tiered design. The colour is the trending summer green, matching my green eyes. As I wandered around in the darling maxi dress it swayed and moved freely. It is a very stylish option. The second style is the stone maxi dress with V neckline, wrap over front, ruffle trim and wicker belt detailing. The simple colour combined with the stylistic features fashions an elegant visual. The belt is a nice touch. I paired gold espadrilles with tie ankle detail, a subtle addition of metallic to the picturesque look. I also added a heavily embellished nude headband to the stone look, adding excitement to the overall appearance.

RELAX MADDISON STYLE

In lockdown being comfortable is paramount. ASOS is providing the quarantine dream! This Aubergine two-piece set is totally adorable and relaxing, the fabric is stretchy so its super comfy, even when sitting down; some outfits can be super uncomfortable when sitting because they have no stretch. The colour is incredibly distinctive, I’ve never seen an item of clothing in this shade, I love it! Also, I adore cropped sweatshirts, you can never go wrong with a sweat. This particular style has a seam detail and is Elephant Grey. I thought the colour name was super charming and I just had to buy it. The sleeves are long and loose, while the body length is super-crop, perfect to pair with my Victoria’s Secret white shorts. Relaxing has never looked so good!
