BOSS LADY

This evocative, quintessential ensemble screams 1940’s glamour; I absolutely adore a vintage look. Fashion just isn’t always as stylish as it used to be. This cream Zara rustic midi dress with front buttons fits my figure like a glove, it extenuates all the right places; pulling in the waist which gives a full hourglass figure. I wore my Zara leather tan belt with statement buckle to further draw in the waist and add a decorative central focal point. I accessorised with a Zara tan fedora and my Zara canvas tote bag with beige piping, the tan accents are perfect against the cream dress. This sumptuous look is perfect for an afternoon tea or lunch date.

LINEN & JUTE

Jeans, a white shirt and tan accessories is a classic fit. I always find the autumnal transitional period so hard to dress for; England seems to have a spout of great weather in September so it’s hard to know what to wear. Here I styled a Zara linen shirt tied with River Island blue denim straight leg jeans and Zara camel kitten heels with diamanté ankle strap. The mix of dressy heels and a casual outfit is so chic, brilliant for shopping or a lunch date. The tan trilby and Glam & Co jute tote bag add a lavish element to the basic denim and white combo. Leaving the summer behind is sad, but I LOVE the glamour of autumn/winter dressing.

GREEN + WHITE = SUMMER DREAM

Green and white is an absolute all-time favourite of mine. Having green eyes, when I wear green it accentuates the colour, especially in the summer. Satin midi skirts are a killer item to have in your wardrobe, this sage colouring is perfect to couple with lighter colours. I paired the skirt with an ASOS white bandeau with a darling sage polka-dot pattern. The mix of a satin skirt with a pretty top creates casual outfit, ideal for a beach trip or a spot of shopping. I styled my H&M white cotton sliders with bow detail with the flattering skirt and top combo. I absolutely adore straw hats, especially this ASOS bow-tie style. The oversized size and bow detailing finish the dreamy look.

6. MADDISON’S BOOK OF THE MONTH

MY NAME IS ANNA

81Pn4Kux1eLBLURB

‘ANNA has been taught that virtue is the path to God. But on her eighteenth birthday she defies her Mamma’s rules and visits Florida’s biggest theme park.
She has never been allowed to go – so why, when she arrives, does everything seem so familiar? And is there a connection to the mysterious letter she receives on the same day?
ROSIE has grown up in the shadow of the missing sister she barely remembers, her family fractured by years of searching without leads. Now, on the fifteenth anniversary of her sister’s disappearance, the media circus resumes in full flow, and Rosie vows to uncover the truth.
But will she find the answer before it tears her family apart?’

I could not put this book down. I read it within a week which is unheard of for me! Whilst studying at university we are required to read massive amounts for our course, therefore I never sought relaxation via reading. However, when my Mumma recommended this book I could not put it down. The whole concept is absolutely genius. Buy it now to reduce your quarantine blues!

7. MADDISON’S SONG OF THE MONTH

WOMAN – JOHN LENNON

71i431fGxQL._SS500_

I have the most varied music taste of anyone I know. I listen to a range of artists from Dua Lipa, PARTYNEXTDOOR and Beyoncé to Elvis, WHAM and Elton John. I love both modern music and classic bangers! My favourite song this month is Woman by John Lennon. This song has an extremely sweet muse; Lennon wrote this song as an ode to his wife Yoko Ono. The relaxed vibes and adorable meaning create a beautiful tune. Have a listen!

8. MADDISON’S FILM OF THE MONTH

MUMMA MIA: HERE WE GO AGAIN

While we are all stuck indoors, why not pretend we are in the Greek Island? Although many tutt at Mumma Mia I absolutely adore the films, especially the second one! The songs, dances and visuals make me feel excited for the future when we can travel and roam freely again. The fashion in this film is stunning and as for Lily James…well she’s pure perfection! The ultimate feel-good film.

9. MADDISON’S ACTIVITY OF THE MONTH

FACETIME O’CLOCK

I love socialising with my friends and while sadly this isolation period has halted in-person gatherings, I have been catching up with my besties via Facetime! This weekend book a Facetime Date with your pals and pop open the fizz or pour a gin for a Facetime O’Clock! Why not dress up for the occasion?!

CREAM TEDDY COAT

Teddy/Borg is without a doubt the hottest trend to date. Autumn is the ultimate fashion season; it marks the release of statement coats. Every year I invest in a coat – last year my red fur was my go-to for the cold British Winter. This year totally fitting with the in-vogue Borg style I selected this Missguided oversized cream maxi coat. The thick coat is super warm, while the silk-like lining is perfect against thick underlayers. The pockets are a bonus, while the cream decorative double-breasted button style is super slick. The subtle half belt adds chic décor to the coat. I adore a monochrome style as the weather turns – it’s timeless. I styled the cream coat with a plain H&M mini dress accessorised with a Zara velvet belt with statement buckle, Zara captains hat, ASOS black patent biker boots and a Primark black quilted bag.

DRESSING FOR DRIZZLY DAYS

I don’t know if it’s just me, but dressing for drizzly summer days is the most IMPOSSIBLE task! With a multitude of summer clothes that haven’t yet been worn, it seems a shame to not wear them. So when the first summer down pour came I had noooo idea what to throw on… My inner Donna Sheridan came to the rescue – dungarees! The perfect solution; covered enough to stay dry and warm, yet still a summer statement. Underneath I styled with this PLT sand Bardot top with statement sleeves and button up front – super hot this season. This top is the ultimate sweet summer piece, perfect for underneath dungarees. These ASOS sandals have been my summer saviour and sass up the outfit. The Zara sandy coloured hat suited the tone perfectly. Accessorising with a baker boy hat will never get old; they’re the cutest accessory and always finish an outfit. Going into Autumn denim continues to kill it in jumpsuits and boiler suits; be sure to get one ASAP!

PRETTY IN PINK

Blush pink; the colour of Summer 2018. Widely adored Meghan Markle sparked the trend when she styled the Carolina Herrera two-piece at the Trooping of the Colour ceremony. The elegant tone inspired this perfect pink ensemble. The dress from H&M at only £39.99 is ‘made’ for summer celebrations. The pink satin material, the wrap over front frill, plunging V neckline and the ribbon waist tie combined created a subtle, beautiful style. For me a killer hat is ESSENTIAL for a wedding! My very own talented Mumma – self-proclaimed milliner – put together this breath-taking fascinator crafted to fit the outfit. The hat consists of a pink base, with tall curls and a statement flower; an impeccable design. Fashioned with sassy ASOS pink satin stilettos with ankle strap and the PLT petite feather bag the striking outfit was complete. Pretty in pink!

PLAYFUL PASTEL

Pastels are everywhere this S/S 2018. I’ve always loved pastel colours however, I wasn’t sure how to wear pastels and not looked washed out. The answer is BE BOLD. Bold isn’t quite what you’d associate with a pastel colour but this denim boiler suit in baby pink conforms to just that. Not only is it the most comfortable piece of clothing, it looks super stylish. The oversized baggy style of the boiler suit is bang on trend, while you can clinch in the waist with a statement belt. Pink and red is SUPER hot this season; once a fashion faux pas the colour combination is now storming the market and contributes a daring contrast to the outfit. I accessorised with my favourite red  baker boy hat; the bright pop of red is perfect to wear in any season and with any colour. It gives off vintage vibes and adds a cheeky style. Binging in red is my favourite current fashion statement. Spying fellow fashionistas at LFW in boilersuits shows how the style is going to storm the fashion world. Paired with these relaxed satin ballet pumps with ankle ties the look is styled down to a relaxed chic.

FASHION WEEK

London Fashion Week 16th – 20th February and London Fashion Week Festival 22nd – 25th February are the biggest events, not to be missed by avid fashion followers. However, there is intense pressure to deliver an insanely chic outfit. It is essential to style a classy outfit that is fashion forward. You cannot fail with a statement trouser and polka dots are the pattern this season … with this in mind, for Berlin Fashion Week, I co-ordinated this combination of Black extreme palazzo trousers, a black and white polka dot shirt with balloon sleeves and tie waist, red fur and dark red sock boots. I accessorised with a black baker boy hat and a polka dot bag. With these fresh and fashionable pieces I wore my signature red lip. The fundamental quality is that you feel confident in your outfit.

On another note Fashion Fans I urge you to visit Berlin, especially in Fashion Week! Although the German festival has not yet become as huge as London/Paris/New York, the events I attended were invaluable to my fashion learning. Fashion Tech and the Ethical Fashion show opened my eyes to the future of fashion and the importance of changing our ways for the better of the planet; vital information best fed through industry talks. Berlin on the whole is an incredibly vibrant city full of mesmerising Street Art alongside quaint/archaic architecture. The city is a key shopping location for both luxury in KaDeWe and concept stores such as Bikini Berlin. Concept stores are the future; the insanity of fast fashion has converted fashion desires to constant ‘wants’ making consumers forget the importance to experience the buzz of shopping. Bikini Berlin provides a healthy mix of stores both independent and chain brands, food stores to cater to any wants, while an area provides an exquisite bar and swing lounge area. A place to stimulate all senses and bring enjoyment back to shopping experiences.
