NEWMARKET JULY FESTIVAL LADIES DAY 2020 – I MADE THE TOP 10 BEST DRESSED!

This 2020 the Newmarket July Festival Ladies Day Style-Awards was held virtually via Instagram. Seeing the Style Awards advertised via the Velvet Mag website I knew I would definitely be entering. What a great way to encourage people to get dress-up and stay-in in the current climate! I absolutely adore styling for the races as it’s a prestigious event, which requires a sophisticated arrangement.

This year I selected an attractive white and blush pink colour scheme. Never Fully Dressed is one of my favourite go-to websites for a show-stopping number. I selected their White Leo Textured Dress. The fluted sleeves panelled modest length and high neck combine for a flawless style. The embroidered texture adds flair to the graceful piece. I’m incredibly lucky to have a talented creative Mumma who kindly crafted the hat from scratch! The blush pink hat matches identically to the blush pink satin ASOS heel with ankle strap. ONCE AGAIN, my Mumma’s incredible vintage accessories have been inherited by me; this time in the form of a sage satin, embroidered bag. The pastel bag with grab handle is a darling, quaint addition to the modern outfit.

Entering my look to the Style Awards via my House Of Maddison Instagram for a bit of fun, I was delighted to be placed in the top 10 Best Dressed. I was delighted to have been posted on both the Velvet Mag Instagram and Website. Next year I cannot wait to attend Ladies Day in person. I’ve started planning my outfit already!

PRETTY IN PINK

Blush pink; the colour of Summer 2018. Widely adored Meghan Markle sparked the trend when she styled the Carolina Herrera two-piece at the Trooping of the Colour ceremony. The elegant tone inspired this perfect pink ensemble. The dress from H&M at only £39.99 is ‘made’ for summer celebrations. The pink satin material, the wrap over front frill, plunging V neckline and the ribbon waist tie combined created a subtle, beautiful style. For me a killer hat is ESSENTIAL for a wedding! My very own talented Mumma – self-proclaimed milliner – put together this breath-taking fascinator crafted to fit the outfit. The hat consists of a pink base, with tall curls and a statement flower; an impeccable design. Fashioned with sassy ASOS pink satin stilettos with ankle strap and the PLT petite feather bag the striking outfit was complete. Pretty in pink!

LADIES DAY

Ladies Day is the perfect opportunity to dress to impress and this statement monochrome jumpsuit fits this criteria.  The origami, twisted front with a strapless top adds a contemporary edge.  A long day in heels calls for comfort and this jumpsuit is definitely easy to wear whilst being sassy.  Monochrome is forever classy and begs for red accessories.  ‘Ladies Day’ is the perfect event for a killer hat. I wore an oversized red rose flower hat in organza providing a quirky avant garde style.  I used a red boxy shaped bag with a striped monochrome silk scarf as a handle. My red high heels with a floppy bow back matched the red matte of my lip, accessorising the outfit perfectly.

Overall a feel good, eye catching outfit that attracted lots of compliments.  A gourmet picnic and gallons of ice gold sparkling rosé completed a perfect day.
