The tennis skirt style has made a MAJOR come-back. Think circa 2012 American Apparel Tumblr fashion; the tennis skirt stormed through and now its back. Whether lockdown has allowed us to re-connect with our pre-teen roots or Wimbledon is inspiring not only sports fans, but also the fashion sect…I’m here for it!
This Zara dress is an incredibly flattering, fashionable style. Take the tennis skirt and combine it with a classic white cotton shirt; perfection. The wrap over top and loose fitting skirt, drawn in at the waist is the epitome of figure flattering. I styled the dress with a thick tan belt and dainty tan sandals; the ultimate brunching/lunching look.
This Zara green poplin dress is a dream. The extravagant ruffle neckline and loose fit combine to make an elegant and timeless piece. The exaggerated design is incredible; an impeccable style for when you want to impress and demand attention. The popping green is a distinct shade; daring and bold. The short length, puff sleeve and loose fit contrast against the amplified ruffle detail. The stylish look screams for an understated hairstyle; I chose a tight poker bun. I added statement diamante branch earrings and off-white Primark sandals to finish the look. Zara is the greatest.
This outfit is perfect for fresher summer days. The combination of neutral tones is so classy. Camel blazers are storming the streets; every fashionista is buying one. Camel is so effective; it can be worn in any season. In the summer camel paired with white and denim is flawless, while in autumn and winter it is perfect paired with black. The ASOS linen, camel blazer has an oversized fit; worn baggy or synched in with a belt the blazer is so stylish. Cow print is a must for this season and going into AW19; this NEXT Cow-Hide leather bag is super cute and fits the neutral vibe. You can never go wrong with a shirt-dress; so simple yet trés chic. This particular H&M shirt dress has side slits and extended cuffs with ties, perfect to peep out from the blazer cuff. I styled the look with the ASOS padlock necklace – so on trend, ASOS gold crackled trainers and a tan Gucci belt. I also featured a Zara Gatsby-esc heavily embellished headband – I totally love it. Cool camel is simply so timeless.
Teddy/Borg is without a doubt the hottest trend to date. Autumn is the ultimate fashion season; it marks the release of statement coats. Every year I invest in a coat – last year my red fur was my go-to for the cold British Winter. This year totally fitting with the in-vogue Borg style I selected this Missguided oversized cream maxi coat. The thick coat is super warm, while the silk-like lining is perfect against thick underlayers. The pockets are a bonus, while the cream decorative double-breasted button style is super slick. The subtle half belt adds chic décor to the coat. I adore a monochrome style as the weather turns – it’s timeless. I styled the cream coat with a plain H&M mini dress accessorised with a Zara velvet belt with statement buckle, Zara captains hat, ASOS black patent biker boots and a Primark black quilted bag.
Who doesn’t love a suit?! This one is perfect for in-between the spring and summer months. There is nothing smarter than a suit co-ord for a Spring/Summer evening out or holiday wear. This Primark suit has a tailored businesswoman style with a striking Ivory and deep Navy statement stripe. Paired with an H&M bralette and Primark stilettos the look becomes more fashion forward and youthful. The white lace bralette adds texture against the clean linen of the suit; creating contrasting fabrics, which is strong for this season. A classic white T and Sneakers would create a more casual edge. Bringing back the 60’s – the first era where pantsuits stormed female fashion, suits are still key and more relevant in current feminine fashion. Styling the hair with a relaxed beach-wave adds a refreshing uncomplicated look while a simple twisted topknot or low bun crafts a more sophisticated chic. This suit is perfectly seductive with a rebellious twist and a hint of nostalgia; all the requirements to kill it!
London Fashion Week 16th – 20th February and London Fashion Week Festival 22nd – 25th February are the biggest events, not to be missed by avid fashion followers. However, there is intense pressure to deliver an insanely chic outfit. It is essential to style a classy outfit that is fashion forward. You cannot fail with a statement trouser and polka dots are the pattern this season … with this in mind, for Berlin Fashion Week, I co-ordinated this combination of Black extreme palazzo trousers, a black and white polka dot shirt with balloon sleeves and tie waist, red fur and dark red sock boots. I accessorised with a black baker boy hat and a polka dot bag. With these fresh and fashionable pieces I wore my signature red lip. The fundamental quality is that you feel confident in your outfit.
On another note Fashion Fans I urge you to visit Berlin, especially in Fashion Week! Although the German festival has not yet become as huge as London/Paris/New York, the events I attended were invaluable to my fashion learning. Fashion Tech and the Ethical Fashion show opened my eyes to the future of fashion and the importance of changing our ways for the better of the planet; vital information best fed through industry talks. Berlin on the whole is an incredibly vibrant city full of mesmerising Street Art alongside quaint/archaic architecture. The city is a key shopping location for both luxury in KaDeWe and concept stores such as Bikini Berlin. Concept stores are the future; the insanity of fast fashion has converted fashion desires to constant ‘wants’ making consumers forget the importance to experience the buzz of shopping. Bikini Berlin provides a healthy mix of stores both independent and chain brands, food stores to cater to any wants, while an area provides an exquisite bar and swing lounge area. A place to stimulate all senses and bring enjoyment back to shopping experiences.
You just can’t beat simple styling! Monochrome has had my heart for as long as I can remember and what better to pair with monochrome than red. These delectable ankle boots have become my ultimate staple piece this Winter. Not only is the deep hue of red the perfect shade; the velvet material, the heel height and the square toe are all elements to die for and completely en trend. White shirts are fundamental for for any wardrobe, it just goes without saying! This smooth white silk shirt, embellished with black buttons and stunning cuff design is beyond perfect for this Winter. Paired with cropped black trousers where can you go wrong? Black trousers are killing it this Winter, on every street a fashionista is rocking them. I loved this pair because of the belt; allowing the waist to be drawn in creating a hourglass silhouette. With lashings of Mac’s Russian Rouge lipstick the outfit is complete. Yet another Zara obsessed outfit…EVERY ITEM. The look is perfect for a Winter date, just the right mix between dressy and casual.
Would you believe me if I told you these heels are £14?! YES £14!!! The last couple of months my love for Primark has been reignited. Primark is killing it in the current market; the release of their black biker jacket with fur detail was a definite winner against other retailers with identical styles. I have always had a soft spot for nude heels and as soon as I spied these in my local Primark I was astounded by the style. As an affordable store I couldn’t believe how expensive the shoes looked and felt almost reluctant to check out the price…beyond gobsmacked – only £14! Scouring the shoe for some sort of flaw I found nothing!!! The shoe is made up of a patent nude body with pointed toe, against a matte cage embellished with gold studs finished with a stiletto heel and a nude sole. The combination of textures, decor and height accumulates to form a killer heel. With likeness to the Valentino heel these shoes are bang on trend, countless other retailers are drawing inspiration from the notorious shoe brand also but in my opinion these are the winners. Pair with jeans, black or cream this winter to rock a striking look.
If you want a way to warm up your tones as Winter draws in … add a pop of mustard! Mustard is super hot this season, as well as appearing all over the catwalks for Spring 2018. This leather jacket is perfect to get ahead of the trend; this statement piece can easily take you through to Spring. Styled with black clothing and warming accessories this leather jacket with frill cuff and hem detail can be worn throughout the winter period, adding a bold statement to any outfit. I paired it with black culottes, a black thin knit with pearl cuff decor, black patent shoes with velvet bow detail and finished the look with a black chunky stole, black statement tassel earrings and black military cap. Wearing contrasting block black against the mustard is a striking statement, while the fur stole and black cap add a wintery edge. The shorter length of the jacket means the whole outfit can be seen – perfect for showing off statement belts throughout the winter. Although you may feel deterred by the vibrance of the colour it is not to be shied away from, just hit the high street and glow with confidence!
It’s officially Autumn…the time of year for extensive walks and indecisive weather. Autumn is perhaps the most confusing season of all for fashion; with the onset of constant rain, yet the temperatures have a tendency to soar complicating the minds of the savviest fashionistas. The easiest place to start is searching for a resilient shoe. I’ve always loved Brogues, the sturdiness and masculine style express Parisian chic. My favourite aspect of these Brogues is in the incredible detail; the cream stitching, silver eyelets to frame the thick lace, the sheen of the black patent material and cream sole – all contributing to the striking aesthetic. Zara as a brand are taking us fashion lovers on a reflective journey through the zeitgeist of 2017 – a time of self-motivation and adoration; an important lesson especially in the twisted world of fashion. Zara’s use of this message is mirrored in the slogan on the lace; the thick cream ribbon printed with bold type ‘UNSTOPPABLE&AMBITIOUS’. The monochrome colour adds modernity to the classic brogue shape and is in-keeping with the sweeping trend of chunky statement laces. Paired with anything from blue jeans, black culottes or even imposing red trousers these shoes pack a punch and demand attention.
